Is CO2 So High We Can’t Breathe?

  • There is no threat to our ability to breathe. Oxygen and nitrogen still make up 99% of our atmosphere. With Argon, we are at 99.9 %. The trace gases including Methane, CO2 and the other greenhouse gasses make up a minuscule part of what we breathe, but they have important abilities to make the Earth warmer. These gases in the atmosphere (in order) by percent are:
    • Nitrogen         78.08%
    • Oxygen           20.95%
    • Argon             0.93%
    • Carbon Dioxide    0.040 – 0.042
    • Neon              0.0018%
    • Helium           0.00052%
    • Methane        0.00018%
    • Krypton         0.0001%
    • Hydrogen      0.00005%
