- There is no threat to our ability to breathe. Oxygen and nitrogen still make up 99% of our atmosphere. With Argon, we are at 99.9 %. The trace gases including Methane, CO2 and the other greenhouse gasses make up a minuscule part of what we breathe, but they have important abilities to make the Earth warmer. These gases in the atmosphere (in order) by percent are:
- Nitrogen 78.08%
- Oxygen 20.95%
- Argon 0.93%
- Carbon Dioxide 0.040 – 0.042
- Neon 0.0018%
- Helium 0.00052%
- Methane 0.00018%
- Krypton 0.0001%
- Hydrogen 0.00005%
